We are seeking a registered Architectural Project Manager with at least 10 years of architecture and/or project management experience to join our Philadelphia or Berwyn Office.
Our Cultural Practice has been working in museums for over 20 years, specializing in all aspects of museum design, from high-profile public and exhibition spaces to infrastructure upgrades to support stringent collection display and preservation requirements. We are looking for a spirited and creative architectural project manager to join our collaborative team! The candidate’s primary responsibility will be to manage delivery, design excellence, project quality, and client satisfaction for projects in the Cultural Practice. As a successful candidate you will work in tandem with a EwingCole Principal on a series of Cultural projects in all phases of the design from conceptual planning to construction administration and project close-out.
Candidates should have experience leading a multi-disciplinary team through planning and/or design for mid-large size projects. Experience working within internal team disciplines and/or consultants is preferred. Position includes the opportunity for growth in the Cultural Practice, with increasing capability to interface with clients and take on leadership tasks.
Job Duties
This candidate must be capable of initiating the design effort from programming and concept design through construction administration.
Work with firm Principals and specialized planners to generate programmatic relationships that foster building configurations of great utility and design innovation incorporating current best practices in the industry.
Create buildings which serve the client’s needs and respond to their desired image, space, and aesthetic.
Assist in developing the client’s understanding of certain relevant design issues.
Develop the building design by testing it in relation to codes and other issues as they emerge.
Articulate design principles to help govern the detailing phase of the project. Author and/or closely supervise details critical to the design concept. Lead presentation of design concepts.
Organize, plan and lead the design efforts of a multi-disciplinary team. Foster collaboration with the engineering disciplines (inclusive of civil and landscape) and Interiors in order to ensure a consistent development of the project towards the design concepts established in earlier phases
Be the primary client liaison, for the design and contractual matters
Manage consultants’ efforts and the project workplan for all team members.

Requirements
10+ years of experience in architecture and/or architectural project management
Bachelor of Architecture or Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Registered Architect or Professional Engineer in at least one state with suitable credentials for registration in other states
Excellent presentation, verbal, written and graphic communication skills.
Ability to react quickly to issues while fostering a collaborative environment is a must
Cultural experience preferred, but not required
A portfolio presentation of prior experience should demonstrate the successful candidate’s capabilities in the design and production of projects in a “hands-on” environment while demonstrating an understanding of the Design and Construction Process
