Duties and Responsibilities:

· Conceptual building design work

· Schematic design work

· Design development including material selection, design style considerations, color selections and other material variables associated with building design

· Construction document development and documentation

· Specification writing / editing

· Coordination of sub-consultant’s work with that of DKN personnel

· Project planning and production scheduling

· Building code research

· Material systems / construction method research

· 3d scanning on-site at existing buildings for documentation of existing conditions

· Construction administration

· Attendance at on-site construction meetings

· Walk-thru and review of construction jobsite for pay application verification and progress reports

· Submittal review

· Timely responsiveness to RFI’s and construction related questions

Required Skills and Abilities:

· Ability to translate client input and directives into architectural designs

· Ability to clearly communicate with clients, colleagues, consultants, contractors, and material suppliers

· Ability to use AutoCAD and Revit production software proficiently

· Ability to use Microsoft Office software proficiently

· Ability to determine next steps for a project and plan the critical path for task completion

· Ability to understand building construction

· Ability to understand construction sequencing

· Excellent problem solving, negotiation and consulting skills

· Knowledge of the requirements for performance under the General Conditions of the Contract for Construction – AIA A201 and other relevant AIA documents

· Ability to maintain client confidentiality when required or requested

· Prolonged periods of working on the computer at DKN’s office including keyboarding, mouse movements, sitting for prolonged periods.

· Ability to lift 15 pounds at times

· Ability to walk a construction site

· Ability to physically set-up the Matterport scan equipment and perform a Matterport scan at a client’s building
