As an Architect, you will ultimately leverage your in-depth knowledge of architecture and design, strategic thinking, collaborative skills, and strong communication acumen to manage projects through completion and develop construction documents. The responsibilities of this position include:
- Utilize knowledge and experience in the design of projects ranging from private residences to K-12 campuses and seismic retrofits of existing buildings to commercial developments to healthcare.
- Manage project delivery and utilize staff in a team atmosphere to produce projects from concept through construction including project status monitoring, tracking staff schedules and workload, project deadlines, and completing projects on time and on budget.
- Lead project development through standard design processes (schematic design, design development, and construction documents).
- Review construction documents for compliance with applicable codes such as the International Building Code (IBC) and Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC).
- Utilize construction administration experience to follow projects through construction through review and processing of RFI’s, material submittals, and periodic on-site construction observation.
- Collaborate with project partners (in-house disciplines, owners, sub-consultants, etc.).
- Assist and instruct entry level staff on design, technical and project management best practices..
- Perform Project Manager duties as required

- 4-year or 5-year bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited program required.
- 5 years minimum post graduate architectural design experience in low to mid-rise buildings (Type V and Type III construction experience preferred).
- Must possess strong design skills and ability to communicate design through drawings and 3D modelling.
- Licensure is preferred, but not required.
- Critical thinking with engagement skills coupled with detailed execution of concepts in a deadline driven arena.
- Construction document development experience required.
- Strong, experienced writer.
- Must possess strong design skills and have an aptitude for project management.
- Ability to travel (occasionally) as we support projects throughout the state.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office.
